The 2011 European Battlen.net Invitational just ended a couple of days ago, while the 2011 Latin Battle.net Invitational is about to be concluded (Blizzard is on a roll in hosting massive money tournaments for sure in preparation for the Global Battle.net Invitational come October), and the best World of Warcraft and Starcraft 2 players to represent the continent has been chosen!
For WoW 3v3, guild Showtime emerged on top taking home $15,000 and the right to represent Europe this October together with the $6,000 runner-up, guild DNAW Trio. Showtime emerge the winner after having fought ferociously and ending with a 2-1 victory over DNAW Trio.
On Starcraft 2, Team Liquid’s Jos “Ret” de Kroon of Netherlands proved to be a tad bit too overwhelming for the rest of Europe’s finest having won the tournament all the way from the winner’s bracket. He won against the second runner-up Johan “Naniwa” Lucchesi of Sweden twice to take home $10,000 big ones and of course the invitation to the Global Battle.net invitational. Naniwa ended with $5,000 as well as the invite to the Global event. Swedish Marcus “Thorzain” Eklöf came 3rd and took home $3,000 while Poland’s Tomasz “Tarson” Boroń had to settle with $2,000 for ending 4th. Tarson btw was one of the 2 players on the tournament to have taken a game away from Ret – the other one being Naniwa.
Grats to everyone! Stay tuned for the Latin American Invitational results!
