DOTA 2 Video Officially Revealed

You pro-gamers might have heard the news about the screenshots that were leaked out to the world (which Professional Gaming Life covered recently), supposed shots of Valve‘s DOTA 2?

Well, Valve have done one better to one-up those leakers, by releasing the official trailer to Defense Of The Ancients 2.

Yes, it’s official, done in the Source Engine Filmmaker Program. And yes, it’s real, appearing in the official DOTA 2 Website and YouTube page. Now the only drawback is that the trailer is simply just that, a trailer, and nothing happens in the trailer to give away gameplay. Knowing Valve, and thier propensity to flex thier cinematic muscles, this video will probably end up as an intro to the actual game (much like trailers they’ve done for Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead 1/2, Portal 1/2).

For those who are still craving for the actual game footage and details, it’s only a couple more days to go (Wednesday, August 17th, 2011) till the Gamescom 2011 opens it’s doors in Cologne, Germany. And DOTA fans will be watching and waiting.

Meanwhile, a direct link to the video is [HERE] or you can download a high quality, 1080p version from Steam.
