As with almost everything, the gaming arena has its own torrent of rumors and official statements, each calling distinct reactions from active industry followers and hobbyist gaming aficionados.
Here are some which have been up and about, lately.
Tim Cook’s visit to Valve – Appleinsider.com reports that CEO Tim Cook recently visited Valve’s headquarters in Washington.
The meet has spurned a number of agenda theories, the most prominent being an Apple/Valve collabo related to the release and support of more Apple-inclined games.
Though some rumors have pointed out the possibility of an Apple-Valve Game Console is on its way, the prospect of Apple expanding game options for its OSX operating sytem and Valve out to expand its market stands to be more realistic compared to the birth of an Apple/Valve produced game console.
But who’s to say an Apple/Valve console isn’t possible?
Left 4 Dead’s Latest Sequel – Xbox Magazine UK dropped a rumor, indicating that Left 4 Dead maker, Valve, is currently working on the next installment of the popular Left 4 Dead series.
Reports indicate that the next Left 4 Dead is more story-line driven, deeming it to have the gameplay points of Half-Life 2.
Reports also reveal new weapons and new characters in the next Left 4 Dead installment, along with the implementation of a more advanced AI directing system, allowing for enhanced change level abilities and map element manipulations making each new Left 4 Dead game session different from one another.
Given that Valve generally keeps mum on new title releases, no official word from Valve has been issued in relation to the game’s release date… yet.
Mass Effect 3 at bargain price? – the recent string of reactions related to the end of Mass Effect 3, one of Bioware’s more known titles, has led many to question the price drop of the game at $39.99 (for PC, Xbox 360, and PS3) from any Best Buy outlet.
At $40 (who are they kidding with that $39.99 tag), the game is $20 off it retail price.
Rumor has it that this price-set is geared to quell the game’s “Mass Effect Controversy” issue, apart from the release of the Mass Effect Resurgency Pack.
