As the anticipated E3 is well on its way this June, talk over which game developers and titles participating in the event is the subject of a lot of forum sites and industry announcements and features.
Square Enix’s update, dubbed to be a “major update”, on Final Fantasy XIV would be one anticipated highlight.
With reports based on the game title’s official forum site, an update of the MMORPG-inclined Final Fantasy XIV will be among Square Enix’s highlights for the E3 expo to happen this June in the Los Angeles Convention Center.

The update is dubbed to be a Version 2.0 of the game title, and is announced to officially roll out by October this year.
When Final Fantasy XIV initially came out in 2010, it stood as the second MMORPG installment in the Final Fantasy game series. For a game title of its caliber, one would think that the game would be met with open arms, but the opposite actually happened.
It was met with negative objections, with a number of reviews talking about how bad the game title was.
The updated Version 2, was made to “patch up” whatever negatives were drawn on Final Fantasy XIV. Last year, Square Enix announced the ongoing development of Version 2.0, even sharing a flowchart map or a roadmap pertaining to its developments and changes.
Based on that flowchart map/roadmap, a free trial period for the Version 2.0 update is slated within November-December this year.
For the E3 expo, a trailer of the Version 2.0 is scheduled to be a highlight, but that highlight may change, depending on Square Enix’s drive in pushing for the new version come August 2012.
