HIS 7850 IceQ X Turbo – Cool at 2 Gigs

Boasting an engine clock rating at 1000MHz, the HIS 7850 IceQ X Turbo by AMD lives up to the established reputation of the brand’s 7000 series, an enhanced for-gaming GPU that comes with ATi technology and an impressive cooling system.

Classified as a “mid range class” GPU, the HIX 7850 IceQ X Turbo combines the ATi Radeon 7850 with a 2GB (GDDR5) memory, with a Memory Clock rate of 1250MHz.

PCIE 3.0 compliant, the GPU comes with added ATi Eyefinity support, ATi Stream Technology support and CrossFireX Technology Support. Needless to say, the GPU also features OpenGL-standards support, with a memory interface rating at 256bits.

Also featuring HDMI and MINI DPx2 connections, the GPU also features support for SL-DVI-D and DL-DVI-I connectivity standards, features which work well with its enhanced Radeon HD engine.

In terms of cooling, the GPU comes with an impressive heatsink, one that is made from nickel-plated heatpipes which work well with chome-finished accents. With a mid-mounted fan, the HIS 7850 IceQ X Turbo is kept well cool with its fan-heatsink-heatpipes construction, defining it as a good gaming GPU option considering its price.

Though gripes in the physical positioning of ports may be encountered by multi-monitor setup afficionadoes, the varied port-connection options supported by the HIS 7850 IceQ X Turbo makes it a versatile GPU with connection options for various users.

Granted that there are other GPU’s with more enhanced specs, the HIS 7850 IceQ X Turbo stands to be a solid mid-range gaming GPU option, with enough gaming-horsepower for users and an enhanced cooling system that won’t blow chips and circuits.
