When the DC Universe joined forces with the Mortal Kombat arena, the amalgam stood to be a direct counter against the long endearing Marvel and Capcom union, one which didn’t only revitalize and revive one of the 90’s-era’s most well loved fighting game franchises, but also gave revamped facelifts on the often-ascribed “morally-challenged” personas of the DC Universe.
Slated for release next year, Injustice: Gods Among Us, stands to bring back the same flavor which propelled the DCU+Mortal Kombat union, focusing more on DC’s established characters, shedding new dimensions into the comic publisher’s respective characters.
Though editors and writers have recently directed the “old school morals” of DCU characters to a fresher, more tuned-to-the-times take (heard about Green Lantern? Turns out he’s gay), the stigma of Superman being the “boy scout”, and the idea of Wonder Woman inflicting the most minimum amount of pain on criminals remains to be ingrained into the characters themselves.
Injustice: Gods Among Us, does a complete makeover on those “old school morals”, with DCU heroes and villains batting each other for top place, in an action packed, head-to-head fighting genre game.
Featured in the last E3, Injustice: Gods Among Us promises to be a fighting game which DC fans and non-DC fans are most likely to enjoy.
With more breathtaking art, dynamic action scenes and edgier, more tough-as-nails takes on DCU’s legends, the game is intent in doing away with tights and spandex wearing yahoos who are always there to save the day without feeling any ill towards criminals and super villains.
As fighting games come, Injustice: Gods Among Us is one game that brings new takes on two aspects, those being a fresher more badass takes on legendary characters, as well as a more dynamic take in the fighting game genre.
Simply put, Injustice: Gods Among Us promises to be one big hit true blue gamers wouldn’t want to miss.
