\"Poker\" <\/p>\n

Poker is a card game where the players are trying to create the best hand possible. The highest hand wins the pot.<\/p>\n

Players may bet, pass, or call. They can also use all five cards or discard one or two. Some poker games include an ante, which is a contribution made to the pot before the cards are dealt.<\/p>\n

A player’s first bet is called the “opening bet.” This bet must be at least the minimum amount required by the rule. If a second or third bet is called, it must be matched. After the opening bet, the dealer will deal the cards.<\/p>\n

Each player is dealt five cards, which are face up. A player can shuffle his or her cards and show them to the other players. Usually, each player is allowed to discard three of his or her cards.<\/p>\n

After the cards are discarded, players are dealt another round of betting. In this betting interval, the first bettor can either raise, or pass. Once the first bettor passes, the dealer deals to the next player in turn.<\/p>\n

If a player does not have the best hand, he or she can still win the pot by betting, passing, or bluffing. A bluff is a bet in which the player claims he or she has the best hand but does not show any cards.<\/p>\n

When a player reveals his or her hand, a showdown occurs. The highest unmatched fifth card in the deck breaks a tie.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
